About Us

     Moonlight Books is located in Southern California at the southern end of the San Joaquin
Valley in Bakersfield. Metro Bakersfield has a population of almost 600,000 while the city
has almost 400,000 residents.

     I was raised in Bakersfield, and my parents and most of my relatives shared in a history
of owning a variety of local businesses. My appreciation for books was inspired by my
grandfather. He was an avid reader with whom I visited often. I loved his den where he
read poems and with lots of animation described new stories and character in a book
he was reading. I was fascinated by his collection of books and stories.

     After two years at Bakersfield College, I married and I moved to Santa Barbara, California
where I lived for forty years. I was blessed to have lived in such a beautiful city and to have been
a partner  in a couple of successful businesses. During those coastal years I operated a small
book, media and gift store for about five years on the east side of Santa Barbara.

     During the five years of its operation, visitors would comment the store reminded them of the
'Bohdi Tree Bookstore' in Los Angeles. The books from that store and a few thousand others that
we purchased later, were placed into storage. All of the books were relocated to Bakersfield and
some were sold on my eBay store a few years years back. Now in 2016, I will begin listing all of
the books plus collectibles in this online store and on my eBay store.

     The purpose of MoonlightBooks.com, is to make available all the new and gently used hardcover
andpaperback 'Real Books, DVD's, Broadway Playbills, Vintage Sheet Music, Stamps, Postcards'
and more.

     My vision for this online store is to promote real and wonderful books and collectables that date
back several generations and reflect historical significance.

     It's my sincere hope is that you will find the selection of books and collectibles interesting and
